A new look for Unitae: calmer, warmer, at home on your phone

Today's update changes how Unitae looks and feels everywhere — on the secretary's laptop on a Thursday evening, and in a publisher's pocket on the doorstep.

Nothing moved for the sake of moving. Every screen keeps its data, its permissions and its shortcuts; the interface around them simply became quieter, faster to read, and much more comfortable on a phone.

Here is what changed, and why.

Calmer surfaces, clearer reading

The canvas is now a warm, soft grey, and content sits on it as clean white cards — separation comes from the surfaces themselves, not from heavy shadows. Meeting sections announce themselves with the workbook's own colours, so a programme reads the way the printed page does.

Typography carries more of the structure: larger serif titles open each page, and the numbers a reviewer actually checks — a section's total minutes, a room's part count — sit right in the headings.

Your congregation, in your pocket

On phones, Unitae now navigates like a native app: a bottom tab bar with the four places a publisher goes — home, the information board, my territories, profile. The same four tabs for everyone, so the app stays predictable whoever picks it up.

Responsibilities never rearrange your navigation. Overseers and coordinators get one extra button — More — that opens their management tools in a sheet, and everything respects the safe areas of modern screens down to the home indicator.

A dashboard that knows what's urgent

The home page now leads with what needs attention: a territory overdue for return, an assignment that collides with a planned absence, documents you haven't read yet.

Responsibility-holders also get quick actions and live congregation counters — territory occupancy, active publishers — and every number is a door into the page where you act on it.

Programmes you can read at a glance

Multi-room programmes finally read like what they are: parallel schedules. Each room clusters into its own running order, with the section colours and timing consistent across event pages, templates, and the information board.

The board's PDF viewer now renders crisply on high-density screens and pinches to zoom on mobile — the letter from the branch reads like a letter, not a photocopy of one.

And dozens of details

Record pages link to each other — a publisher's page shows their territories, next assignments and planned absences; a territory shows its history and current holder. Save buttons stay within thumb's reach on phones. Filters behave the same on every list.

The update is already live for hosted congregations. Self-hosted instances get everything by pulling the latest image — same data, same permissions, new clothes.
