Why €9/month?
Unitae started in a local congregation, built by a ministerial servant tired of managing territories in Excel. From day one, a decision was made: every line of code would be free and open source. The software belongs to the community — that is a legal guarantee of the AGPL-3.0 license.
But the software alone is not enough. It needs a secure server, daily backups, automatic updates, an HTTPS certificate, and a monitored cluster in France. That is what the €9/month subscription covers — the real cost of infrastructure for an average-sized congregation. Over time, multiple tiers will be available so every congregation pays a fair price, proportional to their actual needs.
Every subscription directly funds the development of new features for all congregations — including the ones self-hosting for free. When you subscribe, you are not paying for yourself alone: you are funding the next tool that will save time for a territory servant in a congregation you have never met.
Those who prefer full control can self-host without paying Unitae a cent. You will need a server (at least €4/month for a VPS), a domain name (at least €10/year), and the time to maintain it — but every feature is there, with no restrictions.
You are not paying for the software. You are paying so you don’t have to manage a server — and so other congregations benefit too.
Pricing questions
What happens when my 14-day trial ends?
You will receive an email a few days before the trial expires. At the end, you can subscribe to continue — or simply stop. If you do nothing, your space is suspended then deleted within 30 days. You can export all data before deletion.
Can I switch from managed to self-hosted (or the other way)?
Yes. Unitae provides a full JSON export of your congregation data at any time. You can import it into a self-hosted instance. The reverse is also possible — contact us and we’ll help you migrate.
What if I want to stop?
The 14-day free trial lets you test every feature with no commitment. If you subscribe afterward, billing is monthly: you can cancel anytime and your access continues until the end of the current month. No refunds, but no commitment either.
Is annual billing available?
Not yet — billing is currently monthly only. Annual billing with a discount is on the roadmap.
Does the price include VAT?
Yes. The displayed price of €9/month includes VAT. Invoices with full VAT detail are available automatically for each payment.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
You can export all your data at any time. If you cancel, data is kept for 30 days then permanently deleted. No data is retained after that period, except billing references required by French tax law (10 years).
